Optimize the DEUS for You and Your Area

Unlocking all of what the DEUS is capable on your own can take time. Well, that learning curve has just been eliminated! Learn how to maximize the performance of the DEUS detector under any condition and for any application you might come across. Let Andy and the other experienced instructors show you how to get the most out of this amazing metal detector.

The Boot Camp will consist of a classroom setting followed by an infield session that will allow you to put what was covered into practice. See how slight adjustments can make a huge difference in performance. Most importantly, you will understand WHY you made the change and HOW to determine what the optimal setting is for your area and the type of targets you are searching for.  The Boot Camp Seminar agenda has been designed to be both enjoyable and informative.

The day is designed to get you both comfortable with all aspects of the DEUS and confident in its use. It is a combination of classroom instruction followed by time in the field where you will be able to put what you have learned to the test. There will be both planted targets in a test garden as well as natural targets that will test your skills and newly learned techniques. See how slight adjustments can make a big difference in terms of what you bring home!

There will be a wide assortment of targets that you can check responses on and then use them to create custom patterns for the type of metal detecting that you do. Hands-on experience is priceless in putting what you’ve learned into practice. When you get home, you will know how to put your DEUS to use and, most importantly, understand what the detector is telling you.

XP Deus Bootcamp Attendees Will Receive:

  • A Signed copy of Andy Sabisch’s book, The XP Deus Handbook – a “must-have” reference guide!
  • An XP “Goodie Bag”
  • A Travel Credit Voucher good towards the purchase of an XP DEUS
  • Direct access to Andy Sabisch and the other instructors when you have questions on your DEUS

There will be DEUS metal detectors available for use at the Boot Camp if you do not yet own one. Just be sure to let them know if you need one when you register for the Boot Camp so that a unit can be made available for you.

The In-field training session will include a competition hunt of sorts in that there will be vintage coins, relics and tokens buried throughout the site. The tokens will be redeemable for prizes.

Keep in mind that Boot Camp tickets are limited in number. Complete details on this event are available here or you can register for the Tennessee Boot Camp at this link or the Florida Boot Camp at this link.

Viking Treasure Discovered with XP DEUS

DEUS Best Friends

Here is an amazing anecdotic about my best friend. Incidentally I was using my best friend’s DEUS!

We were contacted by 3 friends from Denmark. Lars Birch Kristensen was such good friend that he loaned the DEUS to me because as he said “NOW you have got a chance to find some silver while I am away”.

I understood I was privileged that I could borrow it while he was away working. It was on a new site that was an early middle-age hemp factory. I wandered around a while and it was getting dark so I was thinking of going back home. Then, I saw a piece of flint that caught my eye and this little pond over there, at the end of the field. I went over and when I was approximately 20 meters from the edge of the field, the Deus told me there was something in the ground, something solid. I squatted down and started digging and brushing off the clay while wondering what I had found. The first thing I noticed was that is was shining! Only silver and gold shine after being in the ground for many years.

Lars Birch Kristensen treasure

Lars Birch Kristensen said “The DEUS started screaming, 86 solid (silver)! I had found a Viking treasure: 7 armbands one after the other.”

But I still didn’t have any idea what it was. I made a note, put it in my pocket and went on 15 meters in the same direction when the detector had some funny “ghostsignals”. I had to see what it was. It was straight ahead amongst dirt and clay. It seemed to be a kind of frame for fixing two walls together (I’m a builder) until I got the clay off and saw the ornamentation around it. I went on 2 meters and then the Deus started screaming 86 solid (silver). I had found a Viking treasure: 7 armbands one after the other. I decided to stop because I wanted to let the museum and the archeologists know of the find without disturbing anything. But I found 3 more on the way back to the car. It was time to turn the detector off.

Bracelets and Treasures Found

The whole day progressed with more finds: 19 bracelets found.

I advised the museum of my find the same evening, and the next morning they went through the roof when they saw my finds and I told my story. Immediately thereafter another team came in cars to the site. I also called my good friend and detector partner Per Jensen (also a Deus man) to come and help out.

The whole day progressed with more finds: 19 bracelets found. A dig was planned by the museum for the following day. We, of course, got invited to participate, and we were on. The following day we found 1 ¾ ring in the digout with the museum. Aprox 300m2 got excavated measured with GPS and so on.

Digging for Treasure

A dig was planned by the museum for the following day. We, of course, got invited to participate!

DEUS finds Viking Treasure

I might have never found my 2.2 pound Viking silver without my DEUS.

2 looooong hot days were over, leaving me back with a big grin on my face. Thinking on what my friend Lars told me about finding silver! He was right, it most certainly found silver. Now I found no way back, I HAD TO HAVE MY OWN XP…

And a couple of weeks after, Lars came back home so I had to go, get my own DEUS. Glancing over my right shoulder looking at MY XP Deus, I again can’t help smiling because, who knows, I might have never found my 2,2 pound Viking silver without it. And now who knows what I’m going to find with my DEUS”.

Four Bronze-Age Gold Bracelets found in the Danish Island of Zealand

Christian Albertsen

Christian Albertsen and his uncle Hans H. Hansen discovered Four specatacular Bronze-Aged Gold bracelets on the Danish island of Zealand.

In the small town of Skaelskoer, Denmark. Christian Albertsen and his uncle Hans H. Hansen are still very excited by their discovery.

Lucky with their XP Deus, they found four beautiful gold bracelets from the Bronze Age. These bracelets were within a few meters of each other. On the same ground, six large bracelets of the same period have previously been found, but in several times over a period of 30 years.

”Too good to be true,” said Kirsten Christensen, curator of the Museum where the bracelets were deposited on the island of Zealand. The two amateur archaeologists first discovered the first two bracelets, then back on the field with their metal detectors, have uncovered two other bracelets.

Two bracelets, it was already very unusual, but four, it was unimaginable!

“This is the first time that we find four bracelets at the same time dating from 800 BC,” said Peter Vang Petersen, an archaeologist and curator at the National Museum, “and ten on the same ground, it’s crazy! “Adding that about 50 bracelets from this period have been found throughout Denmark.

It seems that only men wore these rings. Which suggests they were used to identify the status of

the person, or have a meaning in a religious hierarchy.

“This is certainly not the first time that the fields around Skaelskoer reveal impressive gold discoveries.

Not less than 5 kilos of gold came out with 1.5 kilos for our 10 bracelets” said Kirsten Christensen.
