  • 1982Alain Loubet and his brother buy their first metal detector; the passion is born

    • All models are engineered to include a wireless digital link, the future foundation for the DEUS
    • Alain decides to pursue his passion and dream of creating a metal detector with the "ultimate and most desirable must-haves" for detectorists like himself; brainstorming for the DEUS begins
    • XP acquires a local plastic injection molding supplier. In house tool and die capability allows faster time to market on new products and superior quality
  • 2006Research and Development is expanded and work on the DEUS begins

    • Five top engineers embark on the journey of developing the technology that will one day become the DEUS
  • 2008Initial prototypes of the DEUS are field tested

  • 2009The DEUS is released

    • Four years of intense development comes to a close
    • Treasure Hunters respond favorably to the Fast, Light, Deep, Wireless Design
  • 2010Field tests with outstanding reviews appear in the British metal detecting magazines Treasure Hunting and The Searcher

  • 2011A new state of the art manufacturing facility is opened in Toulouse, France

    • Like the DEUS, the XP facility incorporates a state of the art design
    • This environmentally friendly building uses solar and other alternative forms of energy for heating, cooling and power
    • Detector Electronics Corp. appointed as the authorized United States distributor and service center

    • Author Andy Sabisch writes a glowing review of the DEUS in the US magazine, Lost Treasure
